About me
I am a professor of English at Nassau Community College, the second largest community college in the country. In addition to teaching English, I also teach journalism and literature. I serve as Co-Chair of the African American Read In at NCC. The AA Read In is a national celebration of African American literature which takes place the first Monday or Tuesday of Black History Month. Besides being the author of E-Males: A Novel, I am a published poet. My work has appeared in Seasoned Women: An Anthology of Women's Poetry, published by Quadrasoul Press. My creative nonfiction story, Before We Were Gangstas, will appear in Memoirs in the Light of Day, published by Lamberson Corona Press, this fall. Lastly, I co-authored a play called Diary of a Mad Black Feminist which will go into production early next year.

Sistas on Fire: Can You Stand the Heat?

Sistas on Fire, formerly Diary of a Mad Black Feminist, is hot! Check me out on my Ning for more information about the play.

Chapter Three
Now this on-line dating service, DateBook, seems for real, not like those crazy chat rooms I=ve been going to. The name Garden of Evil should have been my clue, but Chocolate Hearts was a meltdown too. I thought Chocolate Hearts was going to be an easy and fun way for me to meet some brothers on my level with similar interests. How was I supposed to know that Malcolm XXX was really 12-year-old white boy from Idaho? I only figured it out because he asked me if I had the Dino-Warrior… Continue

Hi Marcia
Featured members are individuals that share their gifts freely--They are people who give anticipating nothing and yet appreciating all things! Really simple :-)

Hi Marcia!

You have good ideas for growth; ideas that had not been apart of my original plans. I became so excited by the networks of information for the creative community and I wanted to be able to open another pathway into this fabulous community. And since I've always had a soft spot for the minds of tomorrow --so I thought that I'd give this a TRY ... thanks for looking out--if you have any spare time maybe you'd be interested in co-administrating?

Sails high!
